New Features for 2011
In 2010, Toyota upgraded the Tundra's midgrade V8 engine to a more powerful 4.6-liter engine that offers both an increase in horsepower and better fuel economy. The prospective Tundra buyer can now choose between a 4.6-liter and the top-of-the-line 5.7-liter engine. For 2011, Toyota improved the standard V6 engine with valve timing upgrades and plus 34 horsepower. The passenger-friendly cabin also makes the 2011 Toyota Tundra stand out. Available 2011 Tundra Models
The 2011 Tundra is available as the standard Tundra or the Tundra Limited. It has three interior options, regular, extended Double Cab and crew-cab CrewMax. The 2011 Tundra also has three wheelbase and three bed length options. Different feature options are available in different regions.
Regular cabs are available in the Tundra Grade and the Tundra Grade FFV models. Both of these come with 5.7L V8 engine, automatic transmission, 4-wheel drive, MP3 player, side/curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, navigation system (Optional), bluetooth (Optional), iPod input (Optional) and satellite radio (Optional). With the Tundra Grande, you can get up to 16 city/20 highway mpg and with the Tundra Grande FFV, you get up to Up to 13 city/17 highway mpg. The Tundra Grande FFV has an upgraded 5.7L V8 flex-fuel engine.
Double cabs are available as Tundra Grande, Tundra Grande FFV, Limited and Limited FFV models. The Tundra Grande and Tundra Grande FFV double cabs come with the same features as single cabs plus no-key entry, fully loaded power accessories, high-end windshield wipers, an adjustable driver seat, cruise control and a six speaker sound system.
Crewmax cabs models also come in Tundra Grande, Tundra Grande FFV, Limited and Limited FFV varieties. All features of the crewmax cabs are similar to those of the double cabs and come with a rear window that slides vertically and a rear seat that both slides and reclines.
Still a Great Choice for a Workhorse Pickup
Drawbacks with the 2011 Toyota Tundra have to do with the Interior design, and include audio controls that are out of comfortable reach for the driver, gauges that are hard to read and interior materials that don't match up to the quality that competitors offer. The Tundra also has a jiggy ride that feels more cumbersome than some competitors.
